I first heard the album in 1993. I was only two when it was released, and I discovered the 80s back catalogue mostly after buying the Hits compilation in 1993. Dirty Mind hit me the hardest, and had most in common with the British electronica that I’d grown up with. I will talk about the process of musical discovery, using this extraordinary album as the template.
